How do I sign up for a tour?
Each tour has a tour announcement which is sent out via email and posted on the Celebrate Lit blogging team page. This gives all the basic info regarding the tour. When viewing the announcement, the sign up link is posted on the left hand side under the “information at a glance”. Click the link and enter your information.
What can I find on the team website?
The team website houses the information for tour sign ups, upcoming tours, and tour kick offs. It also has other helpful information such as FAQ section, terms and conditions and more.
Please note a couple of important things:
- The team website is for our team only. It is not to be shared publicly.
- Tours under the “Current Tour Sign ups” and “Upcoming Tours” may have preliminary information or information which may be updated at a later time.
How do I know if my sign up went through?
When you submit the form, you will see a notification from Google saying: Thank you for your request. You will be notified if you are accepted into this blog tour. When you see this notification, your submission has gone through. You should also receive an email confirming your sign up (This is a new feature and has not been active on past tours).
How will I know if I am on the tour?
You will receive a “Welcome” email if you are accepted into the tour. It will include the date you are assigned to post your review and may include the PDF of the book.
If you are not accepted into the tour, you will receive an email thanking you for your interest.
I do not have that many views on my page, does that effect my status as a reviewer?
No. We appreciate each blogger and try to get each and every one onto each tour.
When will the kick off be sent for each tour?
The kick off information will be sent no later than three days before the beginning of a tour. It will include:
- The name of the book
- The name of the author
- Genre
- Tour dates as well as links to each bloggers site on the date they are due to post
- Book info
- Author info
- Link to purchase book
- Link to HTML code for you to use on your site
- HTML for giveaway (if applicable)
- Tweets (if applicable)
- A link to the dropbox folder with pictures of author, book, and giveaway meme
The link to the kick off is also posted in the Facebook bloggers group and stored on the team website.
I did not receive a welcome/kick off information/book for the tour?
Email celebratelitbloggingteam@gmail.com for missing welcome emails.
Kick off’s are on the right side of the this team page once the kick off has gone out.
When will I receive my book?
This varies by author and publisher. It is always the goal of Celebrate Lit to ensure you receive the book as soon as possible.
What formats are ebooks available in?
This depends on the author/publisher. We try to have the book available in as many forms as possible. Book formats are listed on the tour announcement.
There is content I am uncomfortable with in the book. What should I do?
It is the goal of Celebrate Lit to honor Christ. If there is ever a book that has questionable content, please contact celebratelitbloggingteam@gmail.com.
I don’t like the book, should I still review it?
Yes. The author has given you the book in exchange for an honest review. Please consider the following:
- When you sign up for a tour, please be sure it is in a genre/style you would enjoy
- Read at least 80 percent of the book. It is unfair to give a review if you have not read the book.
- Find something positive to say about the book to open with.
- Do not say “I didn’t like this book”. Tell the reader why. It might be an issue that doesn’t bother another person. This is also helpful to the author.
- Is it just the style you do not like? Would others like it?
- Kindness and grace. This is a book someone has worked hard on. Please choose your words carefully.
Please note – according to FCC guidelines, no one can require you to NOT post a negative review. Check out more information HERE.
How long should a review be? What should it include?
There is no set word limit. The question I would ask, is the length of the review fair to the author who graciously donated their book?
At a minimum, it should include:
- Book information
- Author information
- Giveaway information
- Your review. An easy way to remember to review is what our great friend Chautona Havig lists as 5 components: What did you love, what did you hate, what made you laugh, what made you cry. would you recommend it to a friend.
- Per FCC regulations, a disclaimer that lets the reader of your review know that you received the book for free. We suggest, “I was given a copy of this book for free. I was not required to give a favorable review nor was any money received for this review. All comments and opinions are my own.”
There is an issue with the Promosimple giveaway, what should I do?
Email Celebratelitbloggingteam@gmail.com
I received this book/reviewed this book elsewhere, can I still take part in a tour?
Absolutely!! When signing up for the tour, please note that you have the book. You will be assigned a day to repost your review with the giveaway information.
I emailed you, when should I expect a response?
Please remember that Celebrate Lit is on Pacific Standard Time. Our hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 6pm. We generally return emails quickly but please allow 2 business days.
How do you choose which books will be featured on a Celebrate Lit tour?
Celebrate Lit works with authors to feature their books. All books may be featured on Celebrate Lit if the author agrees:
- The book is a Christian book
- The book is free of language and sex
- Is in line with the teachings of the scriptures
Please note, due to logistical reasons, Celebrate Lit can not preview the books before they tour. We must trust the author’s word that their books meet the above requirements.
I have an author I would like to be featured in a tour.
Celebrate Lit would love for you to recommend us to your favorite authors! You can have the authors contact publicity@celebratelit.com for more information on our services.
I have a friend who would like to join the Celebrate Lit team.
